A Miscellaneous Adventure

A Name

I have a name
which no one knows;
you have your fame
which all bestow.

Yet time will grant
both idle graves —
where neither scant
recall our slaves.

So be our names
in buried earth
where time defames
what time has birthed.

so there that name
in life still lived in
is such the same
as gifted, given.
